thanks for the advice. But, I've already broken a gearbox so have become wary of fast shifting or aggressive launches in case it happens again. You must also appreciate the fact that we don't have any dragstrips here - so there is little incentive to try and go for the very fastest times - just ...

we don't have dragstrips or timing gear here - so can't offer any ET or trap speed for that. But, several street-driven (New Age) Imprezas' running the same EJ25 set-up and 60-1 turbo but with dog boxes run 10.9@125-129 mph on street tyres. So, since mine is an old shape (weighing 250 kgs less) with ...

bigger rotors/discs will help with heat dissipation, but you should go for an upgrade big brake KIT - this is the best but you may need bigger wheels for this, or, at the very least you should go for "fast road" brake pads from a reputable manufacturer.

Darkside DK, I am sorry I did not recognise you. Anyway, good to hear you are having fun with your car but do exercise caution when racing. Did you get your starlet engine ?

old dohs to rail gate is good for drags. I have exceeded 250 km/h on this road, with plenty of road to spare for comfortable braking before the rail crossing. The 239 km/h video (in videos section) was made on this stretch of road.

Zoheb : No, Andy Forrest's Impreza did use drag slicks for that run, with street tyres it ran 10 sec 1/4. I get your point about the dollar value, but they are still tuned cars for which reason the major magazines do not look at them in the same light as they would the production supercars. Anyway ...

Zoheb, I watched the video. You were right, that Lingenfelter Corvette did do 0-60 mph in 2 secs and ran a 1/4 mile in 9.24 sec. But, a few points now need to be clarified.
1. On the video they say the car makes 804 bhp AT THE TYRES. That means about 1000 bhp on the flywheel, which is about the ...

Zoheb, those figures are extremely optimistic to say the least. I have a Road & Track magazine article which tested the Lingenfelter Corvette 725 bhp Twin Turbo Commemorative version. This was a test of several tuned cars - 2 Ruf turbo's, tuned Audi TT, Mustang, Saleen TT, even Lola Champ Car, etc ...
