I'd say TSX. My sister has one (a 6-speed manual i believe) and she loves it.

is the Mazda 6 a V6 model? i think it is, cause the price for the 4 cylinder one would have been less than the TSX......

so taking that into account, TSX is a 4 cylinder with 200 hp and Mazda 6 is a V6 with 220 hp......but I think the Mazda 6 is a lil fast in 0-60....but there quater mile is pretty much the same so there is a tie there in their fastness... but the Acura TSX looks more stylish. specially the interior. it has a lot better interior than the Mazda 6. and not to mention, the color on the TSX looks better as well. i don't know abt u guys but the Blue color on TSX looks really nice to me. and i also think the TSX has better exterior looks. moreover, the fuel economy on the TSX will be better since its a 4 cylinder, where the Mazda 6 is a V6. and also as Tawhid mentioned......ur friend will love the V-tec.....no doubt on that. but the Mazda 6 is gonna be more spacious inside since its a mid-size sedan, where TSX is a compact sedan. so its upto ur friend whether he wants more space inside or he wants the looks, styling and fuel economy. also, i think the TSX handles better.

If, i were to buy one, i would have gone for the TSX.

that was my 2 cents. hope that helps.

Tsx from me

Now both acura tsx and mazda 6 are awesome sedans, but the acura is kind of a luxury model where as the 6 is type of a sporty sedan. So if ur friend goes for sporty and more power from bigger engine than prolly it should be the Mazda 6 but if ur friend wants luxury, performance from small engined sedan and better looks than definitely the acura.
I would have preferred the TSX.

Vtec is the best technology Honda yet developed, so definitely the Acura TSX.
