I read it today. DC-10s need to be thrown away.

57 ppl in 34 years.....thats actually very low death rate for plane crashes. Hope the rate stays like this forever. if possible, then decrease. :?

i don't know if its a major accident or minor.... but the newspapers are going crazy over this incident......they said the wings and engine collapsed......and plane is destroyed. its no good anymore......so Biman will be claiming $15 million to the insurance company. :?

i kno a completely diffferent story abt the crash.... i kno it ws due to technical problems but the pilots are to be blamed as well.... due to the enormous pressure of the touch down (which ws off target as well) the ryt wing collapsed.... thru some sources i came to kno that the pilot, were involved in previous technical malfuctions of their aircraft which took place while landing in vienna.... the pilots association in bd declared this particular pilot to be unfit fr flying passenger airplanes, n there were rumors that he has an alcohol addiction.. the pilot also is the chief of safety in the pilots org. n ironically including this crash he ws involved in three major emergencies of biman flites..... all these information are availabe in the bd news papers "prothom alo" n "amar desh"....... the pilots held the press back till 12 noon to enter the airport fr questioning whereas in the mean time they briefed the passengers what to say to the press, as the passengers were not allowed to get out of the airport as well...... wid ref. to FAA rules pilots r required to do blood tests ryt after the crash to check fr unwanted material in their bloods(alcohol or drugs) but in this crash the pilot refused to give his blood, until being ordered by the director of flites n giving his blood after 3 n half hrs after the crash....

if u guyz can read bangla chek out "prothom alo" n "amar desh" newspapers on the net....

p.s. the dhaka bound pilots were sent to dhaka by bus....
