Mitsubishi already makes a fast wagon with the EVO 7 engine in it - the Airtrek Turbo-R. The new Outlander Turbo has the Evo 8 engine. The engines are, however, detuned - the BHP is 240 but the torque is higher than the Lancer Evo at low rpm - the maximium torque is 343 Nm at just 2500 rpm. That makes it fine for towing, going up hills and overtaking in city traffic because of the massive torque down below. The turbo also comes on from about 2000 rpm, some 500 rpm sooner than the lancer Evo.

The chassis is also based on the Lancer Evo, so the handling is very good, though without AYC of Lancer. The 0-60mph time is probably less than one second slower than the EVO 8 GSR, so its a very fast wagon. Car and Driver tested the 210 BHP Subaru Forester XT and got a 0-60 mph time of just 5.3 sec ! So, I would presume the 240 BHP Airtrek Turbo should be very close to that figure as the weight of both wagons is close with the Airtrek being just 80 kg heavier at 1520 Kg (The Lancer Evo 8 weighs 1410 Kg).

BTW, there is a black Airtrek Turbo-R in Dhaka, probably the only one in the country.
