how about a handful of members meet (like the DTD meet) and race for a treat in dominous or pizza hut... and nobody takes any responsibilities except for their own.

my personal opinion is dat we have 2 get things started and soon other ppl will follow....

Maybe 2 years back i saw a porsche 911, maybe it was pintu bhai's ...my car was going at 100km/h but as it went past me it seemed to me dat my car was standin and the porsche went at 100km/h. n all da ppl on the road was just stunned by the speed of that car.

Street Racing..... best if held in tight roads than major roadways...
Ideal test of skills would be to start from a major road such as Uttara and then end it after passing through a Gulshan residential area amidst moderate or heavy traffic (not standing traffic)...
Another good one...would starting from the parliament-building circle throught dhanmondi residential areas.....

I think racing on busy residential areas is dangerous and irresponsible. Who can claim the right to put innocent people at risk of death and injury just for his own selfish pleasure ? Several DTD members have luckily survived crashes recently. When they crashed, what if they had run someone over ? Think of the mess they would have got into and the permanent grief caused to the victims family. We all know that our streets are full of slow moving traffic which don't use indicators prior to turns and that there are loads of pedestrians on the streets who will cross roads without checking the traffic - children, garments workers, beggers, etc . If we are to have fun, we need to make arrangements where we don't hurt people who don't share our passion or can't afford to.

I completely agree with him. no one is going to organize any races on this forum.

Does that means you want to race? Taking your driver?

hahahahahahahah well said nfs!
wrx - i do agree with you too ....infact i am all with you but street racing is about taking risks.
no risk.....no gain. and why would you hurt anything or anybody including yourself if you are skilled enough.....? haha its not about putting your life or others on 'the line'........its all about skills on the line...
no offence to anybody...but thats the way i see it.

no risk...no gain, of course, but being foolhardy and irresponsible is something else. The western countries are getting very tough on speeding drivers in the cities because of such attitudes. Speed limits in cities are getting lower all the time and its easy now to get an instant ban for a few years. why ? because "expert" drivers are getting invloved in accidents while speeding.

In Bangladesh, the police have not got tough yet because speeding in residential areas is still rare compared to western countries. I don't think we should be encouraging others on a public forum to take such risks. What will happen in the end is that all motoring enthusiasts in Dhaka will be labelled as juvenile speeders and we might eventually see anyone with a loud exhaust becomes a target for law enforcement. I know the police in australia and the Uk do harass any young person in a loud or fast-looking car. We don't want that to happen here do we ?

Since we do not have a race track here, I think the Japanese are doing better with their race meets taking place very late on long stretches of freeway. This has taken off in other countries as well.

hahaha wrx i hope you are not taking me in a wrong way. NOt tyring to push your button but here's the basics..... how is one irresponsible if he/she is skilled? ...enough said.

As far as western countries goes......i know all about it since i am born and brought up outside desh and have travelled all around... i go to desh every 4-5 months....thats a different issue though... And no the speed limit is not going down (i know it...cos i am here hahah)... Driving slowly does not mean driving safely... and lol anyone with a loud exhaust doesnot mean he is fast...

And as far as japan goes....the racing style is more into drag racing and drift racing these days. hahahaha dont learn everything from "the Fast and the Furious"...I have been to japan and yes i have seen the racing scene.

And talking of law enforcements....laws against racers is much tougher in japan or other asian countries than the western world.

anyway enough with the essays....aint trying to intimidate anybody...
but being a motor enthusiast is different from being a racer...
