Enjoy it

so 4.2 liters RS4 engine 309 Kw , 430Nm and speed max is 309km/h faster than a 911 Carrera S (293 km/h ), sequential manual gearbox (6),RPM Max 8250rpm, This car could be a real benchmark , price is unknow at the moment but around 100 000 euro i guess.

The headache to Audi is: although it has plenty of state-of-the-art technologies on shelf, its brand value does not allow it to overprice the car. Therefore you can see those extra technologies are listed as options. These include the aforementioned R Tronic gearbox and magnetic ride damping, and the world's first full LED headlamps. You might remember Audi A8 was the first production car to employ LED as daytime running lights. Now R8 introduces a full LED headlamps including the main beam, dipped beam, daytime running lights and indicators. We learn that it is very costly, so the standard R8 will be equipped with Xenon headlights while the LED ones will be available as option from the end of 2007.

looks like a glorified Audi TT! but me likes it... :)

since VW is the parent company, is R Tronic the same as DSG?

i'm sure they intentionally stayed away from the 500+ bhp 5l v10 of the gallardo to keep away from its market segment!

it's not because of the name Abdul.......it is about the sales of the Gallardo. If they make the R8 500+ Hp, then no one will buy the Gallardo anymore.......cause the R8 looks much more exotic and better than the Gallardo. Moreover, since Audi and Lamborghini are in the same parent company VW, and since they already have Gallardo and Murcielago as their high performance cars to compete against other high performance cars like Ferrari.......so no point of making another high performance car in that category, and effect the sales of their other cars......so they made the R8, less powerful, and less expensive, and they are basically targeting the Porsche 911(997) Turbo, Viper SRT-10, Vette Z06 etc.....but those cars are probably gonna be faster than the R8, but then again, R8 is prolly gonna be more luxurious and looks much better than all of them.

It would have been great to have a V12, 610 hp version of the R8, just like it's concept LeMans Quattro......but 610 hp R8 might have effected the sales of the Murcielago.....as Murcielago would probably be more expensive.

Btw, Mercedes and BMW are also coming up with supercars in this category. Mercedes is gonna make a supercar called P8, and BMW will replace the Z8 with Z10........i already opened topics abt the P8 and Z10 in Mercedes and BMW sections....u guys can check them out.

yes! i agree with GTI VR6........If i was in arnab's place, i would have wait and get the R8........but it's about personal preferances. I don't care much about the performance. I mean don't get me wrong; R8 has good performance, it is more than enough for daily driving.. but the performance is probably not as good as the 997 TT....but u don't get to drive that crazy everyday anyways.....so my choice is the R8......it's more pimp! 8)

yes Arnab if you get a AUDI R8 that's graet. But I think the next big deal is not a German sportscar.Wait Tokyo 2007 NEW NISSAN GTR will come out. That's something else sportier , moire for man , more brutal more about performance more about tech more about handling.and Cheaper than any other rivals. In the next years a wave of Japanese supercars will come with the lexus LFA hybrid , Honda NSX , Mazda RX7

I think Arnab wants something German or Italian......and moreover, once u go European, u don't wanna come back to Japanese. I've seen that with most of the ppl.

usually people who buy the GTR R34 , R33 or R32 are very happy with it same about those english men who buy the WRX STI.European car are all about name but Japanese supercar are about heritage and performance.Wait for the next wave of Japanese supercars.Full of tech , futuristic design , high performance .You know the GTR is a very famous car in Japan car industry , known as the showcase of Nissan.Look the Z06 or the 911 Turbo type 996 or 997 are beaten by the Nissan Skyline GTR Z TUNE.That car is powered by the engine used in GT 500 SKYLINE GTR 2004 JGTC.

European cars were good and are still but next step is Asian cars , supercars Korea has got one the the Proto Spirra www.protomotors.co.kr

Abdul...r u doing ok? so u r saying european cars are all abt the name and not heritage and performance? :blue_lol; for your kind information........whenever ppl talk abt supercars, the 1st two names that come to anyones mind is Ferrari and Lamborghini. Ferraris have been the king of supercars for years.......period.

and btw, the Skyline GTR Z Tune is modified by Nismo......it is not a stock GTR....a stock GTR cannot beat a Stock 997 Turbo or Z06.......so if u wanna bring the GTR Z Tune into comparison, then u should bring the Gemballa GTR 750 EVO or Lingenfelter 427 Twin-Turbo Corvette.......not the stock 997 Turbo or stock Z06.

I'm not against Japanese cars or saying Japanese cars suck! but Eurpean cars still have better performance......specially when it comes to supercars. Japanese cars are getting better in supercars, but still not in the league of european supercars......Japan still need to prove them, and for that, they 1st need to build a high end supercar...like Enzo or McLaren....I'll keep away the Bugatti Veyron for now.....it is miles ahead. so let Japanese manufacturers build a high end supercar that is equivalent to Enzo or even F50........then we'll see.
