Post by drshuvo »

My Car is TOYOTA STERLET Soliel 92 Model of Carborator Engine 4E.
It runned 150,000 KM , KPL- 8 Km/ Liter.
I want to convert in CNG ,but here in workshop says to change the Engine.
Now can i run the vehicle with this Engine after convertion in CNG ?
How much the cost of new /Recondition Engine & where to find it ?

according to some sources i've heard that an engine change could cost from 25-35 grand.

i think they said to change it maybe becuz they cant convert a carb engine.

Most of the new cng kits don't support carb engines.... thats why they have are suggesting u for convertion or u r engines is really messed up.. and weak... tht is the other possible reson. if u want to get a EFI 4AFE then it will cost u around 45-50 thousend.. the whole convertion. or if u get a carb-EFI 1.5 4AFE.. u might do tht in 40 thousend.....

Don't know of any shops there but if you do happen to find a suitable engine, you should perform a compression test and/or cylinder leak down test to determine the strength of the engine. any decent garage can do this for u.
