Claim: Mazdaspeed tuned RX-8 produces 300+hp

This guy I know told me last week that he knows of an RX-8 in the Gulshan Baridhara area that produces over 300hp. Its a 6 speed manual transmission RX-8. Triad told me that it was impossible. I am admitting my ignorance in this matter.

So, I joined the RX8club forum to ask one of the forum moderators whether 300+ hp could be acheieved with an RX-8 with a Mazdaspeed tuned chip.

This is what he had to say:

"Well first of all there is no such thing as a mazdaspeed chip.. and theres no way in hell that car is pushing 320 HP.. cars with 7grand worth of turbos and upgrades are barely pushing 300 rear wheel horse power. There is a racer here, who goes by the name of TEAM RX8, he has 214 rear wheel horsepower with a chip and every imaginable bolt on available.

320 HP is absolutely ridiculous."

He sent me another pm with some probable hp info about the RX-8 in question.

"Assuming an 18% drivetrain loss, at 260 flywheel HP, thats just about 208 RWHP.. which sounds alright assuming he has, pulleys, flywheel, intake, exhaust, midpipe, headers and a computer chip.."

Info on the RX-8 available in North America.

212hp with Auto Transmission
232 with Manual Transmission

There is no way an RX8 can produce 300bhp not even with turbo kits and chips. Whoever said it could need a slap in the back of the head.

300hp equals 304.17PS(http://www.locost7.info/converter.php.) Assuming this at the flywheel then considering 18% drivetrain loss, it equals 249PS at the rear wheels.

Considering the 6port rx8 has 250PS (probably at flywheel) i don't see why a tuned mazdaspeed rx8 can't have around 300PS with some bolt ons.

well triad. maybe u should come and see for urself. or u could give me the slap on my head urself. lookin forward to that. if u have a mazdaspeed tuned car which is 280 hp. not 250hp. and twin racing tanodi exhaust and some other things which u can come and see urself. maybe i can slap u in ur head.

1) i don't wanna slap you on the head neither do i wanna get slapped on my head.

2) "if u have a mazdaspeed tuned car which is 280 hp" - what is the add on which gives a more 30hp?

the twin racing tanodi exhaust gives you a more 20+hp gain?

It got the following upgrades:
- Unique MS body areo parts
- MS lightweight flywheel
- MS exhaust
- MS brake pads
- Upgraded suspension bits
- Upgraded oil cooler
- A special tuned PCM

Yet almost everyone in that forum is complaining about power and torque, which is around 260hp. They want the the MS RX-8 to produce around 300hp.

4) I'd love to see your car.

P.S: why doesn't members of RX8Club.com agree that there can be a 300+hp NA RX-8?
