u have to only import second hard cars which will be under 1600 cc... anything over then that has to be brand new... and with 1600cc restrictions on second hand cars, i doubt you can bring nice cars in that range other then japanese cars.

if the vehicle is made in HK (which I doubt) only then you can import used vehicles from HK, no third country import, no used cars over 1600 cc. used suv yes but has to be from country of origin and by the way any vehicle above 3000cc is now 560% duty(dont know if its passed or not yet), so a brand new Cygnus would cost now a little more than 2.3 crore taka or more L:) cheers Mate!

This is my car... its 1594 cc, Lancer MR, so this kind of cars come under the catagory which can be easily imported in Bangladesh. But now i came to know that no third countary imports are allowed, thats a major setback,, so the only way left is to directly ship the car from Japan..

is there any way someone can import cars that are CKD/SKD and not have to pay the full duty?? assuming we have the necessary equipment to re-assemble them.

kashif- maybe you can look into importing spare parts/accessories that are not available in BD.

CKD MEANS COMPLETE KNOCK DOWN, CORRECT. UTTARA MOTORS TRIED TO DO SO. BUT THERE ARE SOME COMPLICATIONS , WELL I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY BUT THERE WERE SOME PROBLEMS. I'LL CONFIRM YOU GUYS LATER ON.
