its got everything to compete with the audi RS4 and the bmw M3, however buyers would have liked a standard six speed manual instead of the sequential paddle shifters. im sure we all can agree that nothing is as fun as standard stick shift. the new M3 has a 4.2 V8 meaning its lighter and more agile, thus the handling is superb. the 5.0 V8 on the IS-F is too big. lexus could have created a new V8 instead of taking the LS600h's 5.0 V8. honestly out of the three i would go with the M3 due to its weight and bmw's long history with the M.

Sometimes a more powerful engine is not the key, dont discount the characteristic of the BMW M, their chassis is second to none. Trust me when I say that my previous X5 is a much better handler than most of the cars out on the road today, minus the supercars. I am sure BMW has married the right engine to go along with their suspension setup for the best combination out there......The IS-F is going to be a great care no doubt, Toyota wants a slice of the M3's, RS4's market and give their brand that sporty image that they lacked all these years.....Competition is good and all the best for Lexus to take such an initiative.....If only Infinity jumps on board, they would make a killer combo as well

as Refayat said consumers will like the 6 speed stick rather than the SPS ... i drove my friends IS350 again today and it has a SPS ... i tried to hit red and then shit it wont do it ... and it won't down shift as u wish either ... you simply can not overwrite the dammn thing ..
Ma friends is a technician in a local Lexus dealership he said the IS-F has the same kind of gearbox SPS wise ... it wont overwrite like the beamer or audi ...
