A380

Post by GTI VR6 »

I will not want to fly in this plane until it has been thorughly used by Emirates or some other airlines. Only then I will be convinced that it is safe for 800 people to fly together. Arnab, you should fly on it and let me know.

this one has pretty long wings:

nice aerial shot:

the fuselage has arrived:

I'm telling you this is really scary!

I did read about that on their in-flight magazine last summer.

they will also have around 97 boeing 777s by the end of next year and about 45 747-200, 300 and 400s.

One of the 747 belongs to Arnold Schwarzeneggar. He leased it to SIA.

hey! where do u guys get all these wrong infos? don't write stuffs with full confidence, unless u read it in a reliable magazine or website. or hear it from a reliable person.

Here are the actual infos......... as of 18th Jan 2005.

Singapore Airlines will be the 1st airlines to receive the A380. The 1st flight is expected in mid 2006 on routes to london and sydney.. they ordered 10 aircrafts (not 25)....and passenger capacity is 480 (not 800). and Emirates is the first airline to sign for the A380. It's also the largest customer of A380 with an order of 45 aircrafts. The 1st flight of the Emirates is expected in November 1 2006.

I'm just putting up a lil amount of info from this huge article with several parts. If u wanna read the whole thing then go to this link

well, i guess they planned to order 25, then they just ordered 10. since they don't know if ppl r gonna fly in it. i guess they didn't wanna take a risk of loss by ordering 25 aircrafts. While searching for the A380, i found out another website which also says that Singapore Airlines ordered 10. and Emirates ordered 41. Air France =10, Lufthansa =15, Qantas = 12. these are the airlines with an order of 10 or more aircrafts. there are some other airlines which ordered less than 10 aircrafts. and u were actually right abt the 800 passenger. its 800 passengers with only 1 class in the whole plane......with 3 classes, its abt 500 passengers.

actually u kno wut... the new aircraft duznt come in 3 classes or one class format passenger seatings or any sort of casinos n stuff. it completely depends on the buyer, how many sections he wants n thus how many passengers. the buyers can customize the interior of the aircraft completely suited to his needs. thats how he orders for the delivery. there is no exact stuff like that.... sia may need a seating arrangement fr 500 luxurios seating whereas emirates may order fr 800 tight squeezy seats to fit more passengers.... thtas how it goes... otherwise lets say if fedex buys one of these, they will convert the whole interior into a huge empty tin can....

Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin Enterprieses, has ordered 6 of them and first class passengers in Virgin Atlantic A380s will actually get their own private double or single beds.
