can someone please help me?
I have a 2003 Range Rover 4.4i V8 Vogue, a 2003 Range Rover 3.0 TD6 HSE and
a 2003 Land Rover Discovery 2.5 XS.
I want to send them from the UK to BD. What would be the depreciation allowance for these 3 SUV's? and which tax bracket would they fall under? Also does any one know of any good clearing agent that could handle the importation of these 3 cars?
I have tried to speak to a number of officials but, as with all things in BD, I am getting nowhere... HELP!

you can bring them in the country with very high duty, and you will have really NO buyers for them. Wait until elections 2008, after that things should improve for the ultra luxury car market.

wow, i c the goverment have made some big changes according to the information posted by snkpkp. i believe we will no longer see any new BMW, MERCEDES, PORSCHE or NISSIAN PATROL... i think the goverment is only trying to improve the ecomony of bangladesh by reducing the fuel demand but increasing tax on expensive cars with big engine will not solve the economical issue because those certain cars are used in special occasion, mostly in the weekend but i dont think anyone uses their expensive cars for daily use. many might disagree with this but do post your thoughts.

to sourov, duty mainly increased on vehicle over 3500CC so Most BMW Mercedes Sedans will be fine as most of them are under 3500cc. As for big suv's, the reason is not about saving fuel economy.

Any changes to the tax laws? does anyone have accurate information regarding import duty on cars now that the Cgovt has "stablelized" the country?? Also, does anyone know of any luxury cars/SUV's avaible for sale? I am a serious buyer and it would save me a hell of a lot of headache importing them myself.

if you're looking to buy newer model BMWs or sth in that range, then what's the use with having the ban on recon cars extended? like i understand if the tax bracket is widened u'd be saving hell lotta money, but exactly how will u benefit from THIS? maybe it will be a BIT cheaper, but u'll still be paying high taxes (minus depreciation ofcourse) right??
