Bengal group is believed to have brought the car in. :D
Rezwan, spot on. It is Bengal Group who got the car. Supposedly it cost them 72lacs. Little too pricy in my opinion. The celica engine is doing wonders for the new elise.

Try this link fellows. Excellent read.

ya 72 lacs for it is too much.. its 25k pounds in england and since its got a 1.8 litre celica engine the tax shouldnt have been so much either.. yes i agree the celica engine with the build and reliability has really changed the elise into a reliable everyday roadster.. seems to be a big hit in the US market too.. :)

Wasn't that the point of both the posts you have qouted.

The word supposed means:

sup·posed (s…-p½zd“, -p½“z¹d) adj. 1. Presumed to be true or real without conclusive evidence.

yeh it's price must be about 30-35 lakhs. I dont see the lotus as a good car bcoz they charge u 10,000 pounds more or the lotus than the toyota celica though the both have same engines. Lotus bought it from toyota.

yeh opinions differ all the time. When a person buys a car, 1st professional thing to do is look under the hood. What matters is da inside not the outside !!!!

The elise handles superbly and on a track is a killer machine. Plus also take the weight factor of an elise into account. It'll out run a celica in terms of performance even though both of them share the same engine. IMO.
