no offence man, but have u seen an EVO and Ipreza race together??? i did. when our friend game8618 bought his mitsubishi Galant, i was with him and we test drove an evo.im talking about at leaset 3 years ago. i thought the car is just a piece of junk and the sales person agreed with us. but, every year @ santa monica, CA.....an abandent goverment airport is used for raceing. probebly u might have seen it in Fast and the Furious. there i saw an 2004 evo vs an 2004 impreza wrx drag race. and it just smoked the S**T out of the impreza by quarter mile. from that day, my views r changed about the EVO. but u got all ur rights about liking a car or not. i just wanted 2 sheare my experience.chittaGoNgz_FyNeSt wrote:well as far as i know impreza's been wining rally championship for years. impreza was always one step ahead of da evolution..it looks way bettah den da evo 8,da engine of evo 8 produces 275 bhp where impreza is a 300 bhp car..impreza is more pupular around da globe ,why is that?....and yeh i did not mean to offend anyone of u..i dun even think anyone of u owns an evo 8 .....so yeh i know what im talking about..im not some magazine freak or surf the net for car specs and history,no offence

were the both cars stock ? or modified? ..look fellaz all i wanna say impreza is a icon..its like skyline gtr r34..evo or impreza can even smoke a skyline badly..so why is skyline so popular, cuz skyline gtr can take upto a level of modification where no car can even get close to it.

Samar, TIE, no one has any problems with you liking the STI better. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However you did use the term evo sucks, in a very fancy way. I always thought you were among the people in DTD who knows about cars (reading from your posts, seeing how much effort you have given in your civic). However statements as such can hurt the evo owners. Maybe today there aren't any in DTD, who knows about tomorrow. You have justified your liking and that is how it should be done, instead of using phrases such as 'evo sukz big time'.chittaGoNgz_FyNeSt wrote:i dun mean to offend anyone..and i dun wanna bring up a fight..dun get me wrong guys,im a very friendly person, just a lil bit straight forward :)

"i dun even think anyone of u owns an evo 8 .....so yeh i know what im talking about"
AND YOU OWN AN EVO and AN IMPREZA??
"im not some magazine freak or surf the net for car specs and history,no offence" (then how do you know about car specs and history?? No one is born with that knowledge)
Care to explain how you learned about cars without reading up different sites and magazines?? No one is born with that knowledge. Why do people even go to school?? You stated earlier that you are going to hook up a turbo in your civic, wouldn't you need to read up on similar setups before you proceed to do the work on your car?? Don't you frequent honda sites?
Honda owners are stated as ricers(in various sites). So people calling them ricers, are they right? I own a honda myself and would take the term 'ricer' negatively, so would you being a honda owner yourself. That's all.

EVO and the STI are both great cars. It all comes down to personal preferences at the end. The Skyline GTR34 is a different car, and should not be compared with the EVO or the STI. In stock form it is very fast, if tracked then it would be better than the EVO, ow please note that GTR34 is an older car, the newest EVO is "9".
Of course we all saw how an EVO kept up with a murcie and that too with just 2l of engine, now thats fast. STI's I seen them tearing down the highways in Vancouver so I respect them too. Since I have never driven any one of them, I would not be ablet o comment.

1. ricer
(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)
A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):
- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.
p.s.not only hondas are ricers lol

Samar, you said 'evo sucks'. Did you forget to put in the 8 there, since now that you mention you love the 6. j/k. peace bro. I'm sticking to my point though. Please refrain from using such terms.
Nicely put (explaining the term ricer). Didn't visit any site for it, or were you creative enough to compile that on your own. (just pulling your leg)
However you can't deny the fact that the term is directed towards HONDA owners MOST OF THE TIME.(I have a honda before you flame me)
You sound like a nice guy. Moreover I'll be a little biased since you like the 7.
take care
P.S. take your time beforing ordering the turbo kit. Please do a little research. Good luck with your project. Hope it turns out the way you want it to be.
