can't post pictures

Post by wrx »

there seems to be something wrong with the picture upload link, can't seem to post the pictures, keeps on showing "error". have mentioned this fault in the posting section, hope somebody comes to the rescue.

Anyway, I have some personal bad news. On Tuesday night I broke my gearbox. Was shifting up from 2nd to 3rd and suddenly, heard a loud 'CRUNCH'. That was it, brought the lever to neutral after much tugging but could not move it into any gear. Towed the car home and had mechanics remove the box and open it - one of the gears was stripped half way.

A replacement (stronger) box has been ordered, but that will still mean the car will be out of action for a few weeks. Can't blame the box, I was warned this would happen sooner rather than later on the original 5-speed box, as I'm running more than twice the torque of a stock Impreza WRX.

hey wrx. no problem bro. post ur pic whenever the gallery starts functioning again. I figured out the problem with the gallery as well. few days ago it wasn't working at all. then i think rezwan fixed it.....but it wouldn't let u upload pics or visit any gallery sections other then the "mebers ride" and "last uploads".

and sorry to hear abt ur gearbox. that was terrible.....but the good thing is, now u'll have to get a new one....and u wouldn't want a stock gear box just to blow it again....so now getting the powerful gearbox will increase ur car's performance even more. so its all good i guess. :D

Zoheb

you are right, can shift without fear with an uprated box (and faster), I had to live with this fear previously which was affecting my gearchanging (and enjoyment !), hopefully, should only be 3-4 weeks till I get the new box...

currently i would say i have about 320-330bhp at the crank with my current mods.

sorry 2 hear about ur WRX. only place subaru forgot to pay much attentionon is the gear box. try and sorce 2puk copper plate with lightened fly wheel. Also see if they can work on the synchros 2 make them handle the extra torque.
