These are the current tax rates i found from the main page of DTD

TAX DUTIES ON CARS !!

The table below gives details of the current tax rates depending on the engine capacity of the vehicle
Brand New/Used Car tax rates

Duty Structure Tax rate
CD ------------- 30%
SD ------------- 30%* /60%** /90%***
VAT ------------ 15%
AIT ------------ 3.5%
LF ------------- 4%
IDSC ---------- 3%
DFVAT --------- 1.5%

* Suplementary Duty 30% for cars upto 1649cc
** Suplementary Duty 60% for cars above 1649cc and
below 3049cc.
*** Suplementary Duty 90% for cars above 3049cc.

the SD tax which is 90% now......(and which is based on the car's engine)...used to be 150% b4 i believe.......I don't know what the other taxes are for....so didn't count them when i was calculating for the price of the SL65 AMG....if all the taxes are applicable and are added together, then the total tax rate goes over 140%........so u r right i guess.

I believe the car then cost over 3 crore. :help:

In Belgium it is priced 220 000 EUROS WITH VAT.173400 EUROS WITHOUT TAX.With 140 porcent tax that makes 417 000 EUROS.ABOUT 2.6 crores.Is Akbar Sobhan who bought this car???

417k euros is actually abt 3.32 crore.

As i said earlier.........the car definitely costs over 3 crore in BD.

i think partex has the most cars in luxury sector. starting from 4 escalades (2 of them coming soon), 2 H2's , Cayenne Turbo (coming soon), 3 Lexus LX470, 1 cygnus, 3 Range Rovers ( 2 new and 1 old), RR Silver Seraph, MB E500, Jaguar S type(coming soon), 4 or 5 Nissan Patrol (3 old and 1/2 new), 2 toyota cresta, 3 toyota mark II's( 1 old and 2 new), 2 Nissan Cefiro, 4 Toyota Crown(2 old and 2 new) and 5 others that i forgot the name of. i think they should get a BMW 7 series or a MB S class. add to the list if you know more.....
