How come Karthikeyan finishes in the top 10 in 2nd qualifying in a Jordan, while Schumi, Barichello, R Schumi, Montoya, Raikonnen all finished under 10?

anyone seen in the qualifying? i had to go to a dinner so i missed it.

Indians are starting to get into every sport possible. first Sania Mirza, now karthik. he used to jaguar F1 team's test driver a couple of year's back.

i dont know , i think they are sizing up their opponents. i mean to see what they are really made of. the teams in the top 10 are most probably using 100% specs, i'm talkin about the lower budget teams. so this way ferrari can see how much they have to push in order to win, without giving 100% since the initial few races they face a lot of reliability issues.

I hope all the post for Narain Karthikeyan. He is a very driver .In 2003 and in 2004 he was in World Series by Nissan. He finished 4th last year.I am very happy because India should have had a F1 driver for a long time ago.It is better late than never. In India motorsports is more important than ever with the succes of Narain. Now there is a Karting championship of India.
Another good driver is Karun Chandok who is very young about 18 or 19.
If India can have a driver in F1 why not Bangladesh????? We need one. :D :D :D

Karthik is young as well. I'd say about 23. the thing that amazes me is that he is in a race with his idols, the best of the best. schumi and all. if a young driver can focus on driving in the race with all these excellent drivers behind him, i will give him a lot of credit. cuz think about it, if i was in his posiotion, i'd think, "when am i going to see a red ferrari in my rear view window, cuz if it is shcumi, he can push me, or force me to make a mistake, especially if i'm new". lets see how karthik deals with it.

It rained right before the qualifying, so those who went out first had a semi wet track, including Karti... and all the rookies. By Trulli, Fisichella, the track dried up enough and they were going fast on dry tires. Massa came out, and heavy rain started. He basically cruised around on dry tires in heavy downpour and Sat kept his promise by crushing in warm up lap. Next was Michael followed by Ralf. And in such a wet condition they barely finished the lap. Thats how they are in the bottom of the sheet. Montoya and Raikkonen got a bit of dry track, so they are in the middle of the pack.
Fisichella has a 2 second advantage over Trulli, so he's locked for Pole unless it rains today. Most top drivers will be near the 8-16 positions. Excited, lots of overtaking. And recently Michael Schumacher has not been the bext charging from the back.
McLaren and Renault had fantastic winter testing, and with one tire for the whole race rule, its going to be interesting.

Eddie Jordan is not even there this yr. Sold the team to Midland. Toyota supplies the engine. Toyota got two famous underachievers, Trulli and R Schumacher.
Red Bull bought Jaguar, Coulthard is their Driver.

Final Result::
1 G Fisichella (Renault)
2 R Barrichello (Ferrari)
3 F Alonso (Renault)
4 D Coulthard (Red Bull)
5 M Webber (Williams)
6 JP Montoya (McLaren)
7 C Klien (Red Bull)
8 K Raikkonen (McLaren)

Renault lived up the hype. Barichello did a good job to get a podium from the middle of the pack. Trulli had his regular under achievement day. Could've been more exciting though.

Karthi finished right above the Minardi's I believe. Schumacher got hit by Heidfield when he tried to block him from coming down the inside, taking both out of the race.
