The band BLACK was in a car accident. They were returning form a concert from CHITTAGONG, the concert was held at M.A.AJIJ STADIUM and it was sponcered by GRAMEEN PHONE alone with their sound engineer and a friend. When they were on CUMILLA HIGHWAY their microbus lost control and rolled. The drummer of BLACK TONY bhai had major arms & leg injuries, the bassist MIRAZ had major head, arms and leg injuries, JAHAN bhai (guiterist) JON bhai (vocals) and THASAN bhai (keybords) and TANIM (drummer of ARBOVIRUS) who was with da band, escaped with minor scratchs. The most sockin news is, the magical and the best sound engineer in Bangladesh MOBIN BHAI died in the accident (MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE).
I just returned from the hospital, TONY BHAI is out of danger now but MIRAZ is still in a critical position. Every1 please pray for them. they r very close 2 me. It was very tough for me to hold my tears bak when TONY bhai was discribing me da pain he was goin through. So guys please pray for them.

The Car Crash - Jahan's first person account
Death is never an accident, but accidental deaths do happen, only when it takes away somebody as precious as our dear Mobin that we realize how vulnerable we are with all these machines around us.
The purpose of this short write-up is to clear some of the prevailing confusions surrounding as how the crash happened and those reading the newspaper versions will be clearly misguided.
When I reached Mobin's residence at about 1:30 p.m. yesterday there were already two different and conflicting versions of the crash in circulation. This was much before Mobin's dead body had arrived.
The first was Mobin seated in the middle of the microbus had access to the exit door, and thus 'jumped out' at the time of the crash and was killed. Knowing Mobin personally I knew this is impossible, because by nature he was extremely cool and level headed person and never panicked under any circumstances. Such a move on his part would be impossible.
The second version was pretty much the same, i.e. Mobin jumped out and the microbus actually fell on him and crushed him completely. This version I immediately dismissed when Mobin's dead body arrived, as other that his face, and part of his head, the rest of the body was completely intact.
This evening (21 April) I went over to Shomorita Hospital to see Tony and Miraz of BLACK and had a long chat with Jahan their lead guitarist.
Since he was in the microbus - this is exactly how the accident happened as explained to me.
Jahan was seated in the rear seat and on his left was Mobin and on right a guest called Tanim.
In the middle seat it were Tony, John and Tahsan, in the front seat next to the driver was Miraz.
They were all in the midst of a very animated discussion and Tony lit a cigarette. Just at that point the microbus skidded to the right and it was obviously out of control. The driver or perhaps the momentum of speed made the vehicle take a sharp left and in the process it tumbled side ways about seven or eight times on the road itself.
Jahan recalls his first reaction was to cover his head and go to crouch down crash position, a move that most certainly saved his life.
When the vehicle finally stopped he found both Mobin and Tanim missing. By the time he pulled himself out from the wreckage, with injuries to his left hand - he found Mobin on one side of the road, blood gushing from his mouth and a gurgling sound, Tanim on the far side of the road.
Miraz who was on the front seat was actually thrown out through the front windshield and lay badly injured in the middle of the road; he was still talking and attmpting to stand up despite the fact that his left leg was crushed. Mobin by Jahan's account was probably already dead at that point.
All available information indicates that both Mobin and Tanim were thrown out of the vehicle through the sheer impact of speed and the rolling of the vehicle.
Thus all the conflicting versions of the crash that we have heard should be ignored, especially about Mobin attempting to jump out, which is nothing but sheer fabrication.
At 80 kmph speed such a crash can defy any explanation, NOT the law of physics.

Miraz and Tony's health Update
First Tony, he had several surgery in his fractured hand. Infact yesterday when I went over he was being operated upon and no visitors were allowed in until later today. It appears a new complication has arisen in his backbone, and he is complaining of pain in his chest.
In the case with Miraz things are not good. He has a major head injury, and there is a 'air bubble' in the front side of his brain. There has been several CT Scan done on him, and his condition cannot be stated as stable - the injuries to his left leg and hand is devastating. Much of his knee and shin is shattered. His face and eyes are blue, indicative of internal injuries.
Khaled Bhai of G-Series confirmed that Grameen Phone/Djuice has offered to bear all expense to evacuate Miraz and two members of his family to Singapore for better treatment, however the air bubble in his brain is fraught with risk. The air pressure in a passenger aircaft can cause it to rupture and unless that is not eased, moving him out of Dhaka would be impossible.
Tommorow the board of doctors will sit and evaluate the latest CT Scan to come to a decision. By looks of things this might be a trying wait for all of us, and I hope to post you a new bulletin tommorow.
A decision is also being negotiated to evacuate Tony together with Miraz to Singapore.
