Hello all! The Wheels of Italy event took place today in Minneapolis and I was there almost all day. It was my first exotic car meet ever and I got to see a few amazing and rare bulls and a hell of a lot of Ferraris. I also had a mini l-power meet along with shadeone!

The Lambos present there were a 99 VT Roadster, 2 Miuras, 2 Espadas and 1 Islero. I spent the first couple of hours walking around taking pics of most of the cars present and then had dinner with shadeone and his girlfriend. Afterwards I spent the next 2-3 hours by the Roadster and had nice chat with the owner, who is a very nice person. He told me that he got the car from Portland, Oregon, from a rich guy who had a dozen supercars and lived on a yacht. He paid $200,000 for it and he got it with only 2600 miles. Since the purchase, he had put about $2400 miles in it. He takes it out about a 12-14 days a year. It doesn’t have much aftermarket mods other than OZ racing chrome wheels. The clutch system has been replaced once in the car. He also has an F355 F1, which he brought along with him, a Dino and a 70’s Porsche. He told me that he attended the Concourso last year and had a nice time. His name is Dale, if anyone of you wanted to know. His favourite car is the Mclaren F1 and he had the opportunity to buy one, but chose not to because it would be stupid thing to do given that he lives in Minnesota. He also wanted an F430 Spider and a 360 Modena F1, but not Ferrari delearship wanted to sell to out-of-state customers. He told me that the next Lambo he buys will be one with a paddleshift gearbox. I did give him a little name-card sized flyer I made about l-power asking him to become a member.

I just can’t described how thrilled I was when I opened the door and sat in the driver’s seat and closed the door and put my hands on the steering. DAMN! What an amazing feeling!!!!!!!! I did not want to get out. I was living in my dreams. I was sitting in a car in which probably Valentino Balboni sat as well. The color combo was amazing and the car stood out among every singe car in the meet.

The Miura is also an amazing car. It just looks stunning. I was fortunate enough to see the rare Islero and 2 Espadas as well. Among the Ferraris, the Testarossa was probably the better looking one of the lot.

I must say I have seen enough exotics for the rest of the year……

The best part was 3 people thought I was the owner of the car even though the owner was standing right next to me :D:D

I will post some videos soon. You can hear how excited I was. Pics of some other cars and FF’s will be up soon.

I made 3 videos.

the 1st one is of one of the Miuras leaving.

the 2nd one is of the Diablo owner chatting with his friend who will be driving the Diablo.

the 3rd one is of the Diablo owner driving away in his 355, followed by his friend in the Diablo, followed by another friend of the Esprit. Another 355 joined them as well. Now that was a cool line-up!!

Just getting in there and closing the scissor doors is an experience of its own.
