Cars, buses, trucks and motorcycles worth $ 12.71 million, $ 9.57 million, $ 13.80 million and $ 22.46 million were imported in 2003-04 fiscal year.

Import of minibuses decreased as dealers imported minibuses valued at $ 4.79 million in 2004-05 fiscal year against the import of $ 7.96 million buses in 2003-04 fiscal year.

Car dealers alleged a section of dishonest businessmen import light vehicles for private use but get the vehicles registered for commercial purposes to evade tax.
