"Mitsubishi has plenty planned for the upcoming 39th Tokyo Motor Show, including the highly-anticipated world concept debut of its next-generation rally car."

"The highlight of Mitsu's show stand will be Concept-X, which is basically the next-generation Lancer Evolution. The company will also show Concept-D:5, a go-anywhere, high-performance concept, a new-look Outlander and the new-age i minicar."

"Concept-X is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four mated to a clutchless six-speed auto-manual transmission controlled by paddle shifters mounted on the steering column."

DETROIT — The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, a Lancer Evolution prototype and a new Mitsubishi concept car will make their worldwide debuts at the Detroit auto show in January, organizers of the North American International Auto Show said on Tuesday.

The Evo X will share a platform with the next-generation version of the Chrysler PT Cruiser, the Dodge Caliber and the Mitsubishi Outlander. The Lancer Evo will feature a more powerful version of its turbocharged MIVEC 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, with horsepower expected to top 300.

The Lancer is one variant of several based on Mitsubishi's all-new global platform. The automaker said it will release more details and photos of all three vehicles at a later date.

This car is also expected to go on production in late 2007.Here are some pics of concept interior.
