1.8 Turbo Miata vs 00' Stang

Post by saqib_FL »

Hi guys...umm...I kinda have a sad story. Over the years, I've done a lot, and I mean a lot of street racing. Not only in Dhaka, but here in the States too. Anyways, I've raced a lotta stangs before and beat most of em...blive it or not, even stock miatas easily beat mustangs on track..(keep in mind, I said stock miatas beat mustangs on the track). Anyways, so it was about a month ago...I was at a light...not looking to race or anything...when all of a sudden, I hear the mustang across revving its 5.0 litre V8. I have a LOUD 8) Borla exhaust with no cat...and I revved that around 4/5k rpms to show em who's boss...well the light turned green and we both smoked off...I actually pulled way ahead of him cuz I shifted at around 7k's...that's where miatas are actually supposed to be shifted, blive it or not...they even have a fuel cut off valve at 7k's to prevent any engine damage. Well, anyways, he eventually was getting very close to me, so I decided to change lanes and pass some cars from the right most lane. BIG MISTAKE...I was goin about 60 mph, and was about to pass a Ford Van when out of nowhere, the stupid van screeched to a halt with me tailing him :quesexclaim: . Well, you can guess what happened. I slammed right into him. :help: My miata's front end was totally smashed in...and I was literally in tearful astonishment as I approached the ******* van driver. I was screaming at him, but then I remembered that it would be of no use. I had PIP insurance, and I had hit him from the back. You see, America's realllly dumb. It doesn't matter if it's the other guy's fault...if you hit someone from the back, it's your fault. Isn't that dumb?? :blue_mad: ...anyways, so the van driver just left the scene without leaving me any info or anything...and I couldn't call the cops or anything cuz they would charge me!! :blue_rolleyes: ....newayz..after my accident, my winter vacation came and I left for BD...and just got back in this dumb country a coupla days back. Fixed my miata today...reallll cheap, so it doesn't look too good  ...But you know what? I learned a valuable lesson from all this. NEVER DRIVE IN THE RIGHT LANE!! Especially in FL, with all the old people on medication...If you guys want I could post pics of the car as it is now..already deleted pics of when it was smashed up...don't wanna remind myself...peace out :)

Thanks for the support guys...its ok, I'll post pics of the miata today and I don't think it came out too bad..but oh well. Oh, about the Firebird, NFS MW, I'm having an engine dropped in it right now...the 350 Chevy block ceased a couple months ago...I can still post pics of it though...it also needs some bodywork..but anyways, its my hard earned car, and I'm proud of it.. :D ...I'm goin to uni right now, and as soon as I get back I'll post the pics.. :)

Naah, don't feel bad man....I was feelin kinda bad too, but when I went out this mornin to my parking lot to drive to uni, I was all smiles when I saw my miata finally fixed up...even happier when I heard the engine roar as I started it... 8) ...but anyways, back on topic...my firebird was my first ever sports car, and this is my 3rd miata..sold the others. Proud to say that they're all bought from my hard-earned money.. :icon_super:..btw..i'm in uni right now, but as soon as I get out, I'll post some pics.. :D

Hi Zoheb...Happy to hear that you're from Tampa...we should meet up sometime...I live alone here in Ft. Lauderdale and it would be great to have someone I can talk in bangla with...haha :D ...I'll pm you my phone number and if you use msn msngr, you can add me, saqibxp@hotmail.com....sorry, I know all this was off topic..

About the accident...don't worry...I've already posted the car for sale, and I want to sell it and probably buy either a Mitsubishi 3000GT, Nissan 300ZX, or a Mitsu Eclipse...what do you guys think? any other cars i should consider?
