if budget isn't a worry, get a new car! :D since there'll be toyotas with bigger engines!

other than proper modifications nothing much is possible other than a slight increase in speed. i always wondered if a straight six would fit in there, since there's so much space on both sides of the engine. if only there's more space and you could work with the mounts! :S any hoo, you could get a supercharger kit & some how have the garage here install it. a 50bhp more wouldnt harm that cast iron block that much.

SafirXP chasers have a straight six already ... u probably mean a V-six.
As for performance upgrades you can look into the TRD site for parts... u can also try searching major Drifting sites ive heard that chasers are pretty popular in drifting and they need a lot of power to keep the wheel spinning in low gears in order to drift. Ill look into some more info but this is just for starters.

U can add a good exhaust system, change the fuel rail and can put a sports air filter or a cold air intake if u can find for this car

Chasers come equipped with both straight four and straight six
The XL and XL raffine package has a 1.8L DOHC 4 cylinder 120HP 4S-FE engine
The Avante and tourer both come with 2.0L DOHC 6 cylinder 160HP 1G-FE engine with VVT-i
The Avante G and tourer S come with 2.5L DOHC 6 cylinder 200HP 1JZ-GE engine with VVT-i
A tourer V version is available with a 2.5L 1JZ-GTE which turbocharged and produces 280HP
A version of Avante G is available with a 3.0L DOHC 6 cylinder 220HP 2JZ-GE engine
There is a diesel version of the Avante with a 2.4L straight 4 OHC turbo producing 97HP (im not sure but i think this one is single cam)
Thats all the versions of chasers 1998 model ofcourse that i know of but there are no V-six versions, but there are some 4WD versions available.

Usually the 1J's respond really well to exhaust mod and air intake.

I would concentrate on getting a 2JZ-cam and advance the timing. Also look at inventing a power FC or SAFC if your budget dont stretch.

ok well im guessing its a 1JZ inline 6 2.5L motor.

if this is the case try and sorce the cam gear out of the 2JZ motor which is ran on the lexus SC300 sorarer/supra 3L non turbo. the extra lift in cam would help it bring the torque up lot stronger.

SAFC is a air fuel mixture piggy back computer.

ideal ratio of air 2 fuel is 12:1. this is the best ratio for any sort of cars to run to get the best out of its combustion system. What SAFC does it takes the duty cycle of each injectors and remaps it and changes its ratio to provide just enough or take away extra fule to create the ideal air fule ratio of 12:1.

It also intercepts with the air flow metre and opens the butterfly more or less to create the 12:1 ratio.

BUT only problem is you need a dyno to map and tune the SAFC.

On the other hand just do a simple exhaust and air intake to give you that bit of extra torque.
