Yanni Arrested For Domestic Battery

Easy listening keyboard tickler Yanni (born John Yanni Christopher) was arrested at his beachfront home in Manalpan, Florida on March 3, but not for crimes committed against the ears of non-new age devotees.
The 51-year-old musician was taken from his home after a dispute with his 33-year-old girlfriend, Silvia Barthes, and was facing a domestic battery charge.
According to a police report, Yanni had told Barthes to leave his house. After packing her clothes, she claims that Dynasty actress Linda Evans' former flame threw her things on the ground, grabbed and shook her, and then threw her on the bed and jumped on top of her. Yanni, who has a degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota, told police that Barthes kicked him and that he injured his finger during the altercation.
The Greek-born singer/pianist denied the accusations and released this statement: "These allegations are cruel, false, without merit and baseless. At a more appropriate time and place, I hope and pray I will have an opportunity to address my fans and colleagues all over the world."
