they won't race because there is a big risk of racing an expensive car and wrecking it. just because you got an M3 and M5, doesn't mean you have to accept all the race challenges. i am not taking anybodies side, but in order to race a expensive car you need a good track style road and have to be safe on both side.kill_2_survyv wrote:y they dont wanna race..r they scared or what..they shud race..afta all wrx is so desperate..
.... da mass people of dhakaties .... DEMAND a friendly race between wrx's Impreza & sahed bhai's M3 .... if Shubro bhai.. or sahed bhai agrees to race .. i can arrange n empty road from Mohakhali to Uttara .... if needed .. more....
... & i'm serious

I don't think it's an issue of financial risk. We all know they are among the wealthiest people in BD. Anyway, whatever the reasons, their decision must be respected. I just wanted to know how the cars compared on the roads - more importantly, I wanted to know which is currently the undisputed fastest accelerating car in the country.
Here's how the fastest cars compare on paper.
1st - Impreza WRX - modified (my car) : BHP = 600 (estimated at current boost levels), weight = 1275 kg, power/weight ratio = 471 bhp/ton
2nd - SL65 AMG : BHP = 612, weight = 2110 kg, power/weight ratio = 290 bhp/ton
3rd - BMW M3 - supercharged : BHP = 450 (estimated), weight = 1600 kg, power/weight ratio = 281 bhp/ton
4th - BMW M5 : BHP = 500, weight = 1830 kg, power/weight ratio = 273 bhp/ton
5th - 911 Turbo : BHP = 420, weight = 1540 kg, power/weight ratio = 272 bhp/ton
The power to weight ratio is a pretty good indication of the accelerative potential of a vehicle, though the latest auto gearboxes might help gain a few split seconds over manual gearbox due to faster gearchange and no loss of throttle as in a manual when clutching. Nevertheless, this would be my current top 5 ranking in BD, unless I am proven otherwise on the road. Though, I think it would be a very close call among the bottom 3 cars.
As a comparison, below are power/weight ratios of the worlds fastest supercars, taken from Evo magazine. As you can see from most road tests in magazines, the power/weight ratio is a fairly effective tool of measure. Generally, the higher the figure, the faster the car. But, where there's a very slight difference in the power/weight ratio, other factors, like gear ratio and traction, can affect the race performance.
Koenigsegg CCR : 683 bhp/ton
Koenigsegg CC8S : 557 bhp/ton
McLaren F1 : 551 bhp/ton
Ferrari Enzo : 476 bhp/ton
Pagani Zonda C12S : 444 bhp/ton
Saleen S7 : 441 bhp/ton
Porsche Carrera GT : 438 bhp/ton
Ferrari F40 : 435 bhp/ton
Ferrari F50 : 417 bhp/ton
Merc SLR : 387 bhp/ton
Lambo Diablo GT : 386 bhp/ton
Ford GT : 347 bhp/ton
Lambo Murcielago : 345 bhp/ton
Lambo Diablo : 339 bhp/ton
Porsche 911 GT2 : 335 bhp/ton
Ferrari 575 Maranello : 294 bhp/ton

The M3 that you mention has had a lot of modifications done to it. It has now got carbon fibre bootlid and bonnet so im sure the weight has gone down a good few kgs.3rd - BMW M3 - supercharged : BHP = 450 (estimated), weight = 1600 kg, power/weight ratio = 281 bhp/ton
As far as the your Impreza is concerned I think your blowing your own trumpet a bit too much. I'd like to see some proper photos of your wrx with all the mods you have apparently done to it.
And btw I spoke to the owner of the M3/M5 and he has no intention of racing or sparring with others let alone a measly wrx.

I'm quite surprised at your outburst. I never said anything personally disrespectful or insulting towards the owners of the M3 or the M5 so they should not have taken offence. And since you don't own either of them, your response is all the more surprising. I was merely stating a personal opinion and presenting the facts as I saw it.
Any debate generated by my posts I think would be quite healthy to promote a greater understanding of cars and car performance. I don't expect everyone to agree with me and that's fine too. But to snap back in this fashion and with such emotion, I think was uncalled for.
This says a lot about the maturity of some people. I thought that the founder of a website would have maintained objectivity and balance in a reasoned argument and not started to throw insults at another member who was not hurling insults himself.
As for the pictures of my car, they were posted in the gallery months ago including pictures of the engine bay, many people have seen them. Regarding the specs - there are many details there and I've answered many queries about the specs from other members - notably rxse7en. And, as for my "measly" wrx - you know quite well we had agreed to privately meet you with the M5 owner after 1.00 a.m.on 2 occasions, through Triad, yet on one occassion you said you had fallen asleep and on another you did not even answer your phone.
We understood your hints. So, it was me who had nothing to hide on every occasion, yet you seem to infer that I am being less than truthful and even shy about the specs and performance of my car ! What logic ! If you had any queries I would have very much welcomed a personal inspection by yourself - all you had to do was ask me.
Though you have resorted to abuse, I will not be hurling any counter insult. If anyone else has taken offence from my posts, it was not intended and I ask for forgiveness.

listen wrx i didnt hurl any insults at you. All i said u were merely blowing your own trumpet and even had the nerve to compare your wrx to an enzo! sorry mate but i didnt think you'd want yourself to be a laughing stock. anyway the point is the owner of the m3/m5 made is quite clear to me that he didn't wanna 'compare cars' or race you. i know that you've put a lot of effort on ur car and qudos to you for that. good that you have a high performance car and all but it doesnt really interest me so therefore I was unable to meet you at 1am! as triad told me that u dont take the car out during the day.

There is only emotion and insult in your post ("measly" wrx). I offered a video as proof and detailed comparison of "performance" only. I did not say my car was "better" than an Enzo. Yet, you could not come out with any logical or factual critique of any of my posts. Instead, you are dismayed that I had the "nerve" to compare the performance to that of an Enzo. Why ? Because none of your close friends are currently in a position to do that at the moment ? Do I detect arrogance and jealousy ? Please, grow up. But, since you are the boss of these forums and you don't want any more posts about my car, then I'll switch off with some dignity, before I get banned.
