It wasn't all that long ago that Hyundai Motor Co. announced its goal to be one of the top five automakers worldwide by 2010. Well, the automaker is one step closer, as it moved from its previous 7th place to 6th. According to Automotive News, Hyundai and its subsidiary Kia Motors Corp., saw over an 11 percent rise in sales in 2005. While many of the sales were overseas in the Chinese, Indian, and Russian markets, the company also made gains in the highly-competitive North American and European markets as well.
Ranking, based on sales, are:
General Motors
Toyota
Ford
Volkswagen
DaimlerChrysler
Hyundai

great info Neil..........but Daimler-Chrysler so behind? I thought they would be up there in the top 3 as MB and Chrysler merged......I mean with those two big companies combined, they have a wide varieties of vehicles that are sold all over the world.

Reason why Hyundai is selling more cars in North America because of their warrenty, which is 10 years 100000 miles and their high safety crash ratings.
nice one arnab.....
