Apple recently introduced the new iPod shuffle, which holds up to 240 songs (as a result of its 1 GB flash memory) in a compact and wearable design. It maintains the shuffle feature that serves up a continuous random mix of songs. However, it is nearly half the size of the original.
The new iPod shuffle is just half a cubic inch in volume, weighs half an ounce and features a all-new aluminum design and a built-in clip, which makes it wearable. Listeners can flip a switch to listen to their songs in order, such as when listening to a new album.
It is available at a price of about $ 79.00, through Apple Authorized Resellers. It comes with about 12 hours battery life and includes ear bud headphones and an iPod Shuffle Dock.
Users can connect the new iPod shuffle to their Mac (with a USB 2.0 port and Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later). They can also connect the shuffle to a Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port and Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) or Windows XP Home or Professional (Service Pack 2).
The PCs should have an included dock, and iTunes' AutoFill feature, which automatically syncs the perfect number of songs from their music library. The integration with iTunes 7 and the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com) allows customers to choose from a selection of over 3.5 million songs from the iTunes digital music store. It should be the version iTunes 7.0 or later. For this an internet access is required and a broadband connection is recommended.
