Legal oversight

Not a Joke, but funny.

They say that justice is blind, but one unfortunate Cambridgeshire man might disagree.

Robin Fielding, who was recently charged with a speeding offence, is challenging his conviction on the grounds that he's never driven a car before because he's blind.

The 28-year-old is registered as disabled due to blindness in one eye, and has never owned a car or even held a driving licence.

Mr Fielding has told Peterborough Magistrates' Court that he was not the driver of the vehicle caught speeding on the outskirts of Peterborough. He says the first he knew of the alleged offence was when bailiffs appeared on his doorstep demanding £300.

He believes he has been a victim of identity theft.
