Toyota has issued the following press release:
Toyota Motor Corporation announced the nationwide launch in Japan of the completely redesigned Voxy through "Netz" dealers, and completely redesigned Noah through "Toyota Corolla" dealers on 27 June.
Since their debuts as new vehicles featuring advanced styling and comfort for all passengers, the first-generation Voxy and Noah, launched in November 2001, have enjoyed the support of numerous customers, with cumulative sales of approximately 800,000 vehicles, and have led the market as the epitome of the minivan.
The new, second-generation models unveiled today extend the advanced functioning of the first generation, including an interior that pays particular attention to providing comfort, ease of use and a relaxed driving environment. At the same time, the Voxy has stylishness at its heart while the Noah gives off a feeling of familiarity.
Specifically, both vehicles are equipped with highly functional features that make them easy to use for all passengers, including the world's first* "one-touch folding" third-row seats and second-row "long-slide multi-use rotating" seats with a child seat mode. In addition, they adopt state-of-the-art technology such as a newly developed 2.0-liter engine outfitted with a "Valvematic" continuously variable valve lift mechanism for superior driving and environmental performance as well as an Intelligent Parking Assist system, satisfying the diverse needs of customers for a comfortable driving experience and display of strong individuality in minivans of just the right size.
Vehicle Outline
Stylish Voxy, Familiar Noah
* Based on the Toyota brand design philosophy "Vibrant Clarity," the two vehicles share the expression of simple yet powerful dynamism as their theme, while emphasizing their respective individual characteristics. The Voxy features a stylish and individualistic design, while the Noah pursues a high-quality, familiar design.
* The aerodynamic versions of the two vehicles employ aerodynamic components such as a large bumper and rear spoiler, overhanging wheel flares, and 16-inch wheels to create the image of a low center of gravity and a sporty and wide feel (Voxy ZS & Z; Noah Si & S).
Voxy
* The front end creates a sharp surface that creates the look of a condensed form packed with power. The stepped headlights, one of the distinctive design features of the Voxy, express stylishness and individuality.
* The side emphasizes the Voxy's simple yet active feel through the door profile with full, curved surfaces, the flush fender lines and the sharp character lines that extend from the front to the rear.
* The trapezoidal silhouette of the rear evokes a sense of stability while the clear and advanced design of the combination taillights gives a cool and stylish impression.
Noah
* The front end creates a familiar and striking impression with a round three-dimensional body and deeply sculpted form extending from the grille to the hood.
* The side emphasizes the simple yet active feel and modern look of the Noah through the door profile with numerous curved surfaces and the J-shaped character lines of the front fenders.
* The rear creates a sense of breadth with combination taillights that wrap around the sides and a feeling of stability with a trapezoidal silhouette, while the red combination taillights emphasize familiarity.
