Starting this thread to gather all the information thats available on the ex Government of Bangladesh W100 600 in Bangladesh. This has been lying in a state of disrepair ever since it left the government transport pool. Latest I heard that there is a plan to restore this car, but the restoration cost for a W100 usually runs into hundred thousands of dollars.

There photos were taken in 2021. Anyone know the latest?

A bit of background - this model was manufactured between 1963 and 1981. A total of 2,677 examples were made, in three distinct body styles; sedan, limousine (Pullman), and a landaulet (open-top limousine). Just 39 were right-hand drive Pullmans and one of them is sadly rotting in Bangladesh.

In stark contrast, here's the Government of Pakistan W100 Pullman that was probably imported around the same time before the liberation war in 1971.

The iconic 600 unfortunately got no special treatment here in Bangladesh. Just got tossed around yards after the sale and changed hands 2 times. The garage owner stripped the car to apparently restore it. That was the biggest mistake. Over the years parts were misplaced and it stood bare and broken without much hope. It’s now with Azhar Chy who has adopted it and trying to put the puzzle back together. This car bears testament to how an important part of automotive history is treated in Bangladesh. All pics above were shot by me in a field in Ashulia. I have newer pics from last year as well.
