no companies have built any cars in bd. Only assembling was done for the pajero, some police trucks and also some prados. It was done by progati, a government related company. It's a public company !! Uttara Motors will assemble some Isuzu Trucks very soon.

Your infos are very interesting.Which Bangladeshi company was supossed to assemble Mitsubishi cars???
We need a national car but the car must attractive to Bangladeshi customers we must attract them so they buy less Toyota and Nissans.

As far as I know local companies that assemble are:

BMTF: Nissan UD trucks, Arunima Bolyan (Isuzu FSR army truck), Land Cruiser (for military) and a variety of other local trucks in all different configuration for military and commercial purposes

Pacific Motors (Maybe Nissans?),

Uttara (Isuzu)

Rangs (Mitsubishi)

Progati (Buses, Pajeros and govt/industry related). Porgati exports the Pajero to Nepal and Myanmar! :D

Otherwise Proton wanted to setup a car manufacturing plant in Bangladesh, Iran also showed some interest but so far that has not translated into any actions thanks to our government!

So if we get this underway we will be the first fully commercial car manufacturing company in Bangladesh. am not counting individuals such as those boys in Jinjira and Mr Leepu as it's not really professional quality.

We need these soldiers!
