Please arnab, don't pressurize me with such difficult decisions. I was going crazy. So I closed my eyes and clicked on one. I think it was CLS55.

think it'll give better performance than the CLS55...
plus m5 got a more aggressive look.

I think a better comparison would be M5 vs E55 AMG since 5 series and E class are competitors. moreover CLS 55 AMG is much more expensive than the M5 and E55 AMG, as well as bigger in size i guess. btw, another competitor of E55 AMG and M5 would be the Audi RS6.

mmmm. I don't really think so. Saw it on the Car and Driver TV programme. they did a comparison on the E55 AMG and RS6 (the new M5 was still not out at that time) and the E55 AMG got better time in 0-60 mph acceleration as well as the quarter mile. I don't really remember, but I think the 0-60 mph was in 4.2 secs and quarter mile in 12.3 secs for the E55 AMG. RS6 was prolly around 0.2-0.3 secs slower in the quarter mile and 0-60mph. now, I'm not sure, but the RS6 might have more top speed. I know that the E55 AMG is limited to 155 mph (250 kph) for USA. but u can remove the limiter and it can go upto 186 mph (300 kph)......which is the actual top speed for the Europian versions. RS6 might have more top speed. i have no idea abt its top speed. does anyone know?

well, there u go.....the E55 AMG should blow away the RS6 if the limiter on the E55 AMG is removed. if not, they are the same in top speed.

btw, i think once i read in some magazine that the RS6 was able to pull it upto 175 mph though it is governed to 155 mph. so may be it is able to make it to 175 mph, which is abt 282 kph i guess.

german law limits most german cars to 155 top speed. it must suck to drive an SL65 AMG and not exploit its full potential in Germany.
