Comparitive analysis : (my car included as "wrx")
110-150 mph :
wrx = 9.5s
sti = 34.17s
evo8 = 37.83s
130-150 mph
wrx = 4.4s
sti = 25.43s
evo8 = 27.89s
140-150 mph
wrx = 2.2s
sti = 16.61s
evo8 = 19.47s
Just look at the staggering difference in performance at high speeds between my Impreza and the 300 bhp STI, itself a performance icon. The Evo9, having 286 bhp, would be similar in performance to the 300 bhp STI.

Depends on what you are comparing it to. Compared to "sporty" sedans (BMW 320i) and "sports cars" like Celica its really fast, because most cars will not even hit 150 mph. Compared to Cayenne Turbo and 911 Carrerra its quite close - Carerra C2/C4-S hits 150 mph in about 43 sec. Compared to M5 (0-150 mph in 23 sec) its slow and compared to Carrera GT (17 sec) and Enzo (16 sec) it is very slow. But, for Bangladesh, if someone has one, it is probably still fast enough to be among the top 12 fastest cars in the country.
Nice specs wrx. from any corner you look at the sti, it's the best damn performance car ever in my openion.
O:T wrx, can we please have the pleasure of a pic of you wrx???? I heard so much about this car and i really....i mean really want to see it. so please provide us a pic. thanks.

I'm a great fan of STIs as well.
Re : my car, there are a couple of pics in the gallery - they were posted last year. If you look back some pages you'll find them. You can also look in the "most viewed section". Anyway, I'll try to take some new ones, as the looks have changed a bit. It's become uglier due to a new set of very large long- range spot lamps.

There's a lot more to a car than just straight line acceleration. On a public road, especially if its twisty and definitely if its wet, the STI and EVO will leave much faster cars way behind. Point-to-point, they are said to be among the fastest cars on the road - beating even the most powerful supercars. The ideal combination of power, handling, control, braking efficiency, road-tuned suspension make them kings of the public road.
High speeds are mostly unachievable on public roads due to traffic and law enforcement, so these cars go for great acceleration upto about 200 km/h. On small capacity (2000cc) turbo cars you either go for good acceleration at low speed (street-oriented) or good acceleration at high speed - you can't have it both. You can only get both on much larger engines due to the wide TORQUE band, which gives nearly instant throttle response at any speeds (no turbo lag here).

I'll try and find those links for you, Subaru. Arnab, Dhaka does have two advantages. There are no speed cameras here - so no nasty surprises at home 2 weeks after speeding. Also, I've never been chased by police even though I've done lots of rounds at very high speed in their presence. That's probably because they feel they have no chance ! Anyway, if you were living in London, it would be very hard to hold on to your driving licence !
