Celica engine replacement

AE 80 ... not KE80... if i remove factory ECU ... then what will controle the fuel system?? @ Lexus

swap with the other ECU.

for example toyota celicas and camrys both share the 5S-FE engines. running from 1990 to about 1999*.

But camry only managers to make 94kw where the celica is 100kw. Reason being all in the ecu. What they did was advance the AF ratio to lean out the mixture to make a bit of extra power.

There is lots of little tricks you can play to make you car gain a bit of power by playing your cards right.

extra 2 to 3 horsepower...i dont know 1 kw =???bhp

1kw = 1.345* hp

extra 2 to 3 kw = 2.69 to 4.035 hp gain at the wheels.

But about 4 to 6hp at the crank. Dyno proven on my celica before.

As for turbo cars it could be a 5 & 10 hp gain depending on the exhaust dump pipe design.
