Zidane to visit Bangladesh: paper

Dhaka, July 7 (IANS) French football ace Zinadine Zidane is to visit Bangladesh to promote football and nutritious food, whatever the final outcome at the ongoing World Cup Football in Germany, a newspaper here has claimed.
Daily newspaper New Age said Zidane would be visiting for two days beginning November 7 to open a nutrition food product factory, a Bangladesh-France joint venture.
Besides opening the plant, Zidane will also take part in various programmes organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation.
He will also inaugurate the under-12 national team that will be sponsored by the Grameen Danone company and will take part in an international tournament.
The newspaper quoted an announcement by Grameen Danone Foods Ltd. to say that Zidane would be accompanying chairman Franck Riboud of Groupe Danone, a French firm that has tied up with Bangladesh's Grameen Group, to the factory's opening ceremony at Bogra.
Franck Riboud of Danone and Professor Mohammed Younus of Grameen, that has pioneered rural banking among women in Bangladesh, signed a deal on March 16 under which the plant will produce energy-giving yoghurt to meet the nutritional needs of the children.
Around 50 such plants will set up in different parts of the country if the yoghurt produced by the plant is successful in reducing the nutritional deficiencies of the children, the newspaper said.
Groupe Danone and four companies of the Grameen Group have 50:50 stakes in the joint venture.
