Can someone please inform me - How much is a 318ES brand new at the BMW showroom in Dhaka?

not too sure about 318 because most ppl dont buy it as it doesnt have all the options u can get in a 320 or above. But a 320i costs abt 52 lacs with options and an m kit with rims will set u back by 4 or 5 lacs more

Cool, thanks for your reply - my parents are moving to Dhaka (from London) so I wanted to know whether it's better to buy a car or import a BMW into the country for them.

My understanding is that for a private import of a 2 year old 1995cc BMW, we would be paying around 117% tax bill on it - adding the DDT figures - is that right?

I wanted to know which taxable value the customs dept. use - the original book price (£20,000) or a lower depreciated value?

Any info would be highly appreciated.

As a Non-Resident Bangladeshi, you may be able to bring your car to Dhaka by paying minimal tax. You could check with the Bangladeshi Consulate in London regarding details i guess.
