The arrival of the Audi R8 is only the start for the new German superstar. As good as it is, Audi plans more from the R8 range as it looks to extend its reach into the upper zones of the sports-car business.

my mistake. i censored the slang 'r 8' which is 'right'. in that process the 'R 8' became 'right'. Fixing it now.

The Audi R8 is just a Lamboghini under a very over done and ugly body, its a good car, but the upcoming Skyline/GT-R is a much prettier and capable car, and the 9-11 trounces it.

Which 911 are you talking about VTEC? The 911 Turbo definitely beats the R8 regarding performance, but 911 Carrera S can't. Infact, Car and Driver magazine did a comparison between the R8 and 911 Carrera S.......and here is their verdict

***The Audi R8 is a unique realization of the carmaker’s art, with everything you’d expect in a 21st-century sports car. The Audi raises the bar in refinement, all-season practicality, and accessible performance. The 911, on the other hand, is an old brute groomed and tamed to a surprising level of sophistication. At least in this informal duel, the R8 appears to be the better sports car.***

btw, the R8 is no way near a Lambo.........Lambos are made for pure performance. This one is more like an everyday drivable supercar. This car wasn't meant to be as aggressive as the 911 Turbo or Skyline GT-R.......but this will own a Lambo, 911 and Skyline when it comes to the everyday driveability and reliability.

I disagree bro, Audi owns the Lamborghini brand, and the R8 is based on one of those cars buts its been toned down. Audi have never been a sporting company, only recently have they been getting abit sporty, the R8 is still a pretty ugly bratwurst, i'm sure its a good car, but lambos are also an everyday car, so are 911 and turbos and the skylines are made to be driven everyday, and the audi gets OWNED by all them bro, those three are both made for everyday use and are more reliable then Audi, which performs below those cars in Europe.

lambos for everyday use? are you crazy? If u drive high performance cars like Lambos and Ferraris everyday, then they'll be in the workshop for most of the days of the year. 911 Turbo and Skyline GTR is definitely better than Lambo for everyday use, but I doubt if they are as reliable as the R8.

btw, u are right that Audi owns Lamborghini, and they also own Bugatti now. So Audi has those two companies for supercars and high performance cars. Audi was never meant to be in the supercar scene. They wouldn't want to effect the sales of Lambos by building high performance cars under the Audi badge. If they really wanted a high performance vehicle under the Audi badge, then they would have built the R8 with the twin turbo V10 engine that produces 610 bhp; which, the concept version of the R8 (Audi LeMans Quattro Concept) had. They just built the R8 as an everyday driveable car with supercar-like performance.

yes akhi, lambos can be used for everyday, go into centarl london and its full of exoticas that are used everyday, RR's Astons, lambos etc. And Akhi a 911 and a Skyline are for everyday use and they are more reliable then an Audi, and perform better in tests, japanese manufacturers make the most reliable and quality effiecint cars on the road, and these days most cars are reliable.

Also Audi do not own Buggati, VW own Buggati and VW own Audi, and guess what Porsche have a large stake in VW and there are news that they are going to buy even more large stake in them.

I admit my mistake when i said Bugatti is owned by Audi.....Bugatti is owned by VW indeed. and yes, I do know that Audi is under VW.....but only financially i believe. Audi makes their own engines and other parts. and Bugatti Veyron uses an Audi engine too.

btw, Just because u see Lambos everyday in London, doesn't mean they are for everyday use. Supercars require frequent maintenance. They require servicing every 500-1500 miles, depending on the car. for example, McLaren F1 needs servicing every 500 miles i believe, and each time the car is serviced, it drains out 25000 GBP (or 49000 USD) from your pocket. I don't know the exact numbers for Lambos, Ferraris and Astons, but will probably be 1/3 of that price. So, u see my friend, they are not for everyday use. you don't wanna spend 8-10 grand every month on servicing, while u can keep ur Lambo for weekend use, and use a regular car for everyday work. moreover the gas(fuel) is a factor too. Supercars guzzle way too much fuel. expenses on Porsches and GTRs should be less, but still pretty expensive.

anyways, I don't wanna argue with you. Just go to websites where used Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches and GTRs are for sale, or find local car magazines, where supercars are up for sale........and check out the mileages they have regarding the model year of the car. u'll see that those cars are driven less than 5000 miles a year (except Porsche Boxter, which is cheap and used everyday), wheres average mileage for regular cars in USA is 12000 - 15000 miles. u'll even find 2002/2003 Murcielagos with 10000 or less miles on them. Actually www.dupontregistry.com is a good website to look up for used supercars for sale. so just go there and check out the mileages on the supercars over there. u'll know what i'm talking abt.

So, as u can see my friend, I'm not talking out of the blue without any knowledge. Florida is widely known for exotics and supercars, and I've seen a whole bunch of used supercars for sale here in FL......and none of them had an average of 5000 miles/per year on them......which explains they are not for everyday use. If u still don't believe me, then go find some supercar owners and ask them urself, if they can drive their supercars everyday.

and buddy, don't get me wrong in here. I don't doubt the reliability of the Japanese cars. I know u r a Japanese car fan, so u took my words the other way when i said GTRs are not for everyday use. I didn't imply in any way that Nissans are not reliable. All I was saying that u can't drive a GTR everyday, like u could drive an Altima or Maxima. I, myself owned 2 Nissan cars b4, so I know how reliable they are. and for the last 6 years, I've been driving an Accord.....so I wouldn't want to doubt the reliability of the Japanese cars.

and btw, can u please explain what is "Akhi".......if it's a slang, then please refrain from using it. u've been told about the forum rules b4. So, please try to follow them, to maintain a healthy environment around here.
