RAB confiscated a Mitsubishi Pajero, a Nissan Patrol and an LS430 from Saka Chowdhury since they could not find the legal papers for these cars.
Partex Group Jaguar was parked in front of Volvo showroom. Papers were submitted to RAB and they sent the papers to BRTA for verification. Car is now parked inside Volvo for the time being. There was an Auto Museum sticker on the car whcih the RAB spotted in the morning. When they say the car later at night the sticker was not there anymore.

its not only happening to corrupt officials.. people who have bought porsche's.. are all of them corrupt?? NO. its not the peoples fault that the government had previously put up insane tax rates for cars with high cc's.. i mean who would spend 2.5cr + to buy a cayenne turbo when he can get it with mp quota for less then 1.5 cr? they should catch the ministers who sold the quotas..not the people who bought it!khundkar wrote:People keep saying "very sad, very sad". Aren't the cars taken from corrupt officials and people who did not pay their taxes? Why is confiscating cars from corrupt officials sad?

The high tax rate is there for a reason. In a country where the GDP is only around $500 per annum, it is quite ludicrous to actually drive a car thats worth $50,000 without the Bangladeshi Tax rate.
These political leaders bought the cars so that they can sell it off for a profit. They bought it without tax, and still made a profit, and the person buying the cars? well they got a great deal as well. Most of the people who had these cars, were politically affiliated. If people are honest and have nothing to hide, then they should drive their exotics and slap the police with their legal papers. But the questions remain, how many of them actually do have legal papers?
