What engine would you recommend?

I'm in the initial stages of restoring a late 70's Japanese FR sports car.....

I was planning on throwing out the old engine/gearbox and putting a newer EFI engine in its place.

My initial thoughts were 3SGE(toyota), SR20DE/CA18DE(Nissan)....wanted to keep it to a 4cyl below 2000cc but with decent horsepower(approx~140+).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

3S-GE or mayb a 4A-GE

I have done some calculations and think that u should go for 4age 16V, not the 20V. or SR20DTE. SR20DE r available in dholaikhal. bt if u import, u can get the 10V with fr gearbox.
