600bhp wrx? what a waste... no matter how fast it is, its still a 4WD (they suck) comedy car! put that amount of power through your rear wheels and then drag, thats an achievement!

I beg to differ, the 996/997 Turbo's are all wheel drive. They can beat a ferrari/Lambo any day.

nah, that wasn't my point! i just don't like 4WD and all the computer gadgetry you get with it!

yeah, a turbo will keep up with the F430 easily! but IMO a man's car should always be RWD, and no computers helping you out.

Safir XP.........if u think AWDs are waste on sports cars, then u must be on crack........ Bugatti Veyron is the fastest car in the world, and it is AWD with 1001 hp. so if u think 600 hp in an AWD is a waste, then u must think Bugatti Veyron is a waste as well i guess. :blue_lol;

.....and not to forget about Lamborghini Murcielago, Gallardo, Porsche 997 Turbo, Subaru WRX STi and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. They are all AWD as well. So there u go.......if AWDs were waste on sports cars, then I guess Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Subaru and Mitsubishi engineers know nothing about cars.

Moreover, the world is devloping and ppl are getting new technologies. U can't expect to have the same technology on cars forever. nowadays, pretty much every manufacturer uses computer technology in their cars. for example, paddle shifters......pretty much all the new high end sports cars have them these days, including cars like Veyron, Enzo, Murcielago, Gallardo, F430 etc etc........so u just gotta accept the new technology. Engineers use all these gadgets and technology for a reason...... not to waste them.

and if you think AWD cars suck, then may be you should go help out Bugatti and Lamborghini engineers build their cars since all of their cars are AWD.

Damn thats an awfull comment safirXP. i think zoheb said it all. AWD cars are the best, not only they can kick some a** in tropical countries but also in snow covered countries as well. think about you have a RWD car and you are living in Michigan where snow lasts 7 months. you think you can race with someone in the snow covered roads with your RWD car????? I dont think so. you will be out of the road before you even think.

Don't take me wrong safirXP. Just think harder before making your openion to public. PEACE.

lol... with that much power you end up needing to put the power through all four wheels! and by computers i meant stuff that helps out the driver like the Evos active center diff & active yaw control. its cool stuff, no doubt! but doesn't it make the drivers job a lot easier?

i'm all for new tech, as long as its not intrusive, like some cars have stability control that can't be turned off totally, etc.

we're talkin about sportscars, of course you need awd in places where its that cold!

come on, wouldn't you have more fun driving a RWD? that was the point. not which is better or worse. you turn in, get oversteer, you catch the back & then floor it.

anyways, nice to see so many AWD fans here! ;) shobar ato gaye lagbe bhabi nai! :D

just to end... porsche's premiere car is the GT3 not the turbo or GT2. only that VW group (audi, lambo & bugatti) use their own quattro AWD. jeidin Ferrari will move to AWD sheidin ami manbo tomader kotha! :D which might be very soon though... since Ferrari engineers wanted AWD traction (with the active suspension) when they were designing the Enzo! :S

i have no dout that RWD cars are fun. but if you have a racer mentality, then you and your car have to be ready for race in all condition. RWD car gives trouble not only in ice but also in wet roads as well. check out this Porsche Carrera GT a RWD super car.
Image

This happened after a light rain earlier in the day, this guy turned left on this road going at least 90mph and just lost it, the car spun out, (rear end) took out about 35 feet of a cinder block wall, then spun & hit the wall again with the front end, one of the wheels flew across the street into a neighborhood, the guy came out with one little scratch.so RWD are fun, but not so fun on wet condiions.8)

Sorry for the OT's Admins. Done from me.

Safir XP....I'm not arguing about which system is better........don't get me wrong here...everyone has their own choice. some might like RWDs and some might like AWDs.....there is nothing wrong about it. All I'm saying is that AWDs DON'T suck (as u said earlier awd sucks and 600 hp on awd is a complete waste).......u were like completely writing off AWDs, as if AWD cars are the worst thing in the world. So, I was just stating the facts that if AWDs were so bad, then supercar makers like Lambo, Bugatti and Porshe wouldn't have used them.

I guess it all depends on driver's preference.....but AWDs are definitely safer though, especially when u have too much power in your ride. as far as I'm concerned, I like both. I had a RWD car and it was great fun. and my dad's AWD car is great too.........so both of these systems rock for me. but yeah, if I was in a place where it snows often, or even here in Florida during the rainy season, I would pick the AWD car for sure.

the way I see it, you have 600hp, if all that power is chanelled to the rear wheels then for sure some would be lost to traction failure. But if the same power is distributed to 4 wheels, then not much traction is lost and therefore you can utilize most of the power.

I think it's wrong to reach conclusions on something you have not tried. I would advise SafirXP to hire a WRX or an Evo for a day and take it to a track. After you've had a few rounds I challenge you to come back and tell us it was a waste of your time and money !
